Fraser River Charter FAQs

Answers to common questions about seasons, weather, groups, and booking your Fraser River fishing adventure.

What fish species do you target?

We specialize in White Sturgeon, a variety of Salmon species and combo trips. Seasonal trout and steelhead are also possible on the Fraser.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes – purchase your BC Freshwater and BC Tidal Sportfishing licences online before your charter. All guests 16+ are required to have one. We will provide guidance on what you will need upon booking.

What’s included in the charter price?

All premium gear, bait, tackle, jet boat transport and licensed guide. Just bring food/drinks and weather-appropriate clothing.

Do I need fishing experience?

No prior experience needed. Captain Long Beard assists beginners with everything from rod set up to proper fish handling.

How long are the trips?

You can choose from 6 hour, 8 hour or 10 hour charters. Half-day charters can also be arranged (4 hours).

What’s the max group size?

Up to 4 guests per jet boat. Multi-boat options are readily available for larger groups, stag parties or corporate events.

Can we keep our catch?

Salmon, yes, pending DFO regulation openings & limits at the time. White Sturgeon, catch-and-release only (conservation policy).

What should I bring?

Dress for the weather. Layers are recommended. Bring rain gear, sunscreen, hat, polarized sunglasses and food/drinks (if lunch option selected). No personal fishing gear is needed.

Where do we meet?

Mission Harbour Boat Launch; Mission, BC.

What if weather cancels the trip?

NO, we do not cancel charters based on rain/bad weather. If we had to cancel due to extreme circumstances we would reschedule at a date that worked for everyone. Keep in mind this has never happened.
